CONTEXT

The client is an industry leader, designing and manufacturing wood-based panels.

The property is located a few minutes from the centre of Paderborn, right at the intersection between a residential and an industrial area. This connection defines the base for our concept of a long building in-between  two urban contexts.

CONCEPT

A 170m long single story hall structure bridges the two urban areas and therefore adapts different symbolic attributes from each side. The roof moves smoothly from a pitched- into a flat roof, referring to the housing zone and industrial zone on either side.

CONTENT

The modern layout with workspaces on a single level promotes social exchange, innovation and saves building costs. The space is open and can be rearranged to provide maximum flexibility while adapting to flux in corporate demography.

The company related material palette such as engineered timber and wood cladding in the interior spaces benefit the atmosphere and well-being of the users.
